Garden of Dreams Green Tea Description:
Top quality orthodox teas from Nepal are produced in extremely small quantities and often difficult to come by. Garden of Dreams is meant to be an outstanding representation of green tea from Nepal at the time of availability. However, this tea will change, potentially quite significantly, from year to year. Our current Garden of Dreams is an amazing Green Tea, though with traits of Darjeeling and Oolong, from Arya Tara Tea Estate in remote eastern Nepal.
Nepali Green Tea
Garden of Dreams Significance:
This is a summer harvest tea grown at 5,000 feet in remote eastern Nepal. The Arya Tara Tea Estate, which produces this beautiful black tea, is right on the Indian border. Located in Fikkal, in Ilam District in Eastern Nepal, Arya Tara has it’s own plantation and also sources leaf from neighboring small scale farmers. The factory is owned by the Rai family who have been tea farmers for over 50 years. They have been certified Organic since 2018.
We are able to purchase from Arya Tara Tea Estate, and get this beautiful tea to the United States because of the Himalayan Tea Plantation Cooperative. The HIMCOOP is joint marketing consortium of Orthodox tea growers in Nepal. The staff at the HIMCOOP have the job of connecting tea merchants with the tea farmers in Nepal. This allows small growers like the Arya Tara to do business internationally, which allows them to get a fair price for their teas.It also opens up this hidden gem of the tea world to discovery by a broader audience of tea lovers.
