Shenandoah Blue (Blueberry Tea) Description:

Our flagship tea is named in honor of the Virginia Blue Mountains of Shenandoah Valley which have a beautiful blue appearance from a distance. Shenandoah Blue is a blueberry tea with plenty of blueberry aroma and flavor. This rich black tea blend incorporates both blue cornflowers and dried blueberries to impart a taste of summer outside in the wild. As a black tea blend, Shenandoah Blue has moderate-high caffeine.

Shenandoah Blue is also available in Tea Sachets (13 tea bags per box).Pyramid Style Tea Sachets

Conventional TeasIngredients:

Loose Organic Black Tea, Dried Organic Blueberries, Organic Cornflower Blossoms, Flavor

Shenandoah National Park - Blue Ridge Mountains

Western Virginia is home to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains which often appear with a bluish haze from a distance due to isoprene given off by the trees which are so plentiful in the region. It also happens to have plenty of wild blueberries growing throughout. :)

Steeping Notes

Like other black teas, this blueberry tea should be steeped with boiling water. Be sure to steep no more than 5 minutes so you will get the great blueberry flavor without bitterness that comes from over steeping tea. During summer try cold steeping for the same great blueberry flavor with slightly more floral notes.

Step 1:
Preheat mug with boiling water, discard and refill.
Step 2:
Steep 2 flat tsp or 3-4 grams of tea per 8 oz of water.
Step 3:
Steep for 3-5 minutes as desired. Experiment with slightly cooler water or shorter steeping times. Try one additional steeping if desired.

Black tea with a wonderful blueberry flavor. No artificial taste. Pairs wonderfully with blueberry scones.

Tasted my first cup of Shenandoah Blue this morning at a meeting and it was love at first sip. Have decided to share it with all my clients this year in my "Taste of Loudoun" gift baskets. Delicious!
